Each and every Friday night and Saturday morning, we gather together to celebrate Shabbat. Friday evening services are held at 6:30 p.m., with Shabbat morning services beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Services are led by Rabbi Robert D. Judd and Hazzan Jodi Sered-Lever, using the most recent edition of Siddur Sim Shalom for Shabbat and Festivals. Our services combine both Hebrew and English in a traditional, yet accessible, Conservative service. We use traditional prayer, traditional and non-traditional melodies, and English readings to help us connect with the Creator of the Universe. We are a fully egalitarian congregation.
Kol Ami is a participatory congregation and our congregants often lead services, read Torah, and chant the Haftarah. Hebrew school students and b’nai mitzvah students also read Torah and lead selected parts of the service. We have a growing cadre of capable service leaders, Torah readers, and Haftarah chanters.
Rabbi Judd offers sermons, divrei Torah, and teachings every week. The teachings are always interactive, with congregants asking questions and offering their own insights into the weekly Torah portions.
