JOB DESCRIPTION- Education Director
Congregation Kol Ami, a young, family oriented, egalitarian, conservative synagogue, in north Tampa seeks a part-time Education Director to direct our religious school (K-7th grade), and our post B’nai Mitzvah program, “the Academy” (8-12th grade). Responsibilities include directing and overseeing the religious school and the Academy program, hiring and supervision of teachers, programming and curriculum development, and administration and budgeting. The position includes organizing and overseeing High Holiday Youth Services and Shabbat Junior congregation as well as the Purim Carnival.
The Education director will work in collaboration with the clergy and the School Board on educational goals and school programming as well as synagogue wide program development. Our candidate will be energetic, innovative and highly creative, with the ability to inspire participation in all of our educational activities. S/he should have excellent communication, organizational and administrative skills. This person must have a solid knowledge of Judaism and curriculum, be comfortable in a prayer setting, a working knowledge of Hebrew, and be familiar with the resources available to congregational schools. Minimum credentials for this position include a Master’s Degree OR equivalent experience as well as experience in the Jewish educational field.

Congregation Kol Ami, a young, family oriented, egalitarian, conservative synagogue, in north Tampa seeks a part-time Youth Director to direct our vibrant youth programs (Chaverim, Boneem, Kadima, and USY). Responsibilities include overseeing and managing the youth programs, hiring/supervision of youth advisors, programming, and administration and budgeting. Our ideal candidate will be energetic, innovative and highly creative, with the ability to be a “Pied Piper” inspiring participation in all of our youth activities. S/he should have excellent communication, organizational and administrative skills. Congregation Kol Ami’s youth program serves our congregation with activities, programming and leadership development for children in 3rd through 12th grade (Boneem, Kadima, and USY) following the guidelines of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. We also have developed our new Charverim program for Kindergarteners- 2nd graders. Each of our youth groups has the opportunity to engage in a variety of social, Tikkun Olam, and educational activities each month.
