Mitchell Weiss, was born in Paterson, New Jersey and raised in Edison New Jersey. He holds an undergraduate degree in Business and Finance from the University of Tampa as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from DePaul University. Mitchell has lived in Florida for many years and has been an active participant in synagogue life. He has contributed more than 30 years to one of our largest financial institutions and left his Vice President post to make a significant contribution to not only the community that he loves, but the community that he is also a part of. Prior to joining Congregation Kol Ami in 2014 he held the positions of Comptroller and Executive Director at Temple Beth Shalom in Sarasota, Florida. Under his direction Congregation Kol Ami has seen many significant improvements, notable among them "Sinkhole Remediation, Homeland Security Grant and a NEW Website". Mitchell recently received his FSA (Fellow Synagogue Administrator) certification from the NAASE (North America Association of Synagogue Executives). Mitchell has been married for over 36 years to his wife Andrea and has raised 4 successful daughters; 3 of which have made a move to the Mile-High city of Denver and one still resides in Tampa with Mitch's first born grandson - Benjamin!
Being an Executive Director for Mitchell is not a job, it is a calling and one he answered willingly and outright. He hopes to continue to make a significant contribution to the Executive Director profession, but to Tampa Bay community and to the conservative movement overall.
