Shalom, Kol Ami,

Welcome back, Kol Yeladim! I am so excited to get back into the swing of the 2024-2025 School Year! As the Fresh Prince would say, "Now this is a story all about how" our school year is about to get turned upside down—in the best way! I am thrilled to introduce our teachers and the many activities we have planned for the school year. Our first day of Religious School is August 18th, so mark your calendars! The first day will include introductions, a parent meeting, meeting the teacher, and our Congregational Kick-Off. It’s going to be all that and a bag of chips!

Please help me welcome our 2024-2025 faculty! Ms. Lauren Dunayer will be our 6th/7th grade teacher, Ms. Alissa Chernin will be teaching our 4th/5th grade classes, Ms. Davina Horowitz will be teaching our 3rd grade class, and Ms. Jennifer Zimmer will be our PreK-2nd grade teacher! Mx. MK will be returning to teach our Chug and Library programs. We will also have several high school students as Madrichim (student helpers) in our classes this school year.

I am very eager to get the year started with these amazing teachers! You will have the opportunity to meet your child’s teacher on the first day of class and participate in an engaging activity as well as ask questions. We have several new families joining us on the first day of class this year, so please be sure to introduce yourself and be prepared for an icebreaker during our parent orientation. If you know a family looking for a religious school, please invite them to join us on the first day—remember, “the more the merrier,” just like a 90s Friends episode! We’re gonna make it “da bomb!”

Rabbi Blatt and I have been working on streamlining our curriculum for this school year. I am excited to introduce this curriculum at our parent meeting on August 18th. We will also introduce our new family programs that we will be launching this year. More information will come, so keep watching the Weekly Watch for dates!

I am looking forward to another wonderful Religious School year for our students and families. Please look for an email from me with more information and a few volunteer requests for the school year. Education has always been my passion, and I am passionate about continuing our Jewish traditions and passing on our Jewish values to our Yeladim (children), l’dor v’dor (from generation to generation). Think of it like a yearlong episode of MTV's "TRL" – full of excitement, fun, and unforgettable moments!
