Brotherhood is starting the new school and shul year busy.  On Sunday, August 25 at 10 AM, we are proud to be sponsoring an open brunch for all Kol Ami members (Brotherhood, Sisterhood, and any member of Kol Ami) while we listen to a guest speaker from the DC area, David Bernstein.

David will be speaking about the very timely topic of "What is DEI and is it Good for the Jews?"  With all that's going on in today's world, this is a relevant subject, and he will talk about it from the Jewish perspective.  David is a passionate advocate of the free expression of ideas and of the State of Israel.  He's the Founder of the Jewish Institute for Liberal Values (JILV), which opposes illiberal ideologies and supports liberal values inside and outside the Jewish community. 

David authored a book called Woke Antisemitism and will have copies for sale.  At services this past Shabbat, I told a guest/visitor from another congregation about the speech, and she mentioned how much she enjoyed his book.
