Brotherhood President, Jon Zimmer

It’s been a busy few months with Brotherhood!  We just had our Annual Craft Beer Night at Thirsty Buffalo Brewing in Land O’Lakes (rescheduled due to Hurricane Helene the other month), as we try to spread out our events to show some love to our many congregants who live in Pasco County.  Thank you to the Cross Family (Sharon, Kevin, Staci and Dan) for helping sponsor this annual event in honor of their patriarch, David (z’’l), our shul’s first President and former Man of the Year.

Brotherhood also had a successful outing of our “Chai Guys and Gals” where we help with various synagogue projects, such as taking down the sukkah, and doing yardwork by trimming shrubbery and hedges, cleaning up debris and clearing paths, which helps visibility for security purposes.

We also recently had our Annual Firearm Safety Day at Shooters World.  We had two new members attend as well as a member who had never shot before.  As a reminder, this event is open to all members, including women and young adults, with their parents’ permission, of course.

There is plenty on the horizon for Brotherhood, including our Man of the Year event coming in 2025.  Stay tuned, and as always, please feel free to reach out to me at brotherhood.kolami@gmail.com with any questions, feedback or suggestions.  See you at shul!
